  • Join us for a creative workshop where you will craft a beautiful heart mosaic on the perfect rock. In just three hours you will learn the art of mosaic by transforming a simple rock into a vibrant jewel for your garden. All materials will be provided.
    This workshop will be taught by UC Master Gardener Judy MacKenzie.

  • Preserved lemons are a fermented condiment consisting of lemons cured in salt and various spices popular in Mediterranean cuisine. This class will guide you through how to make preserved lemons and how to use them to add
    brightness and tang to many flavorful dishes. We will send you home with a starter kit to make your first batch of preserved lemons at home plus some recipes using your preserved lemons. This class will be led by UC Master
    Food Preserver Jodi Bay.

  • This class will be a three part, hands-on activity where you will get your hands dirty assessing the soil condition in a raised bed, plus learn how to amend it. Next, the irrigation demo will provide first hand experience in drip irrigation installation followed by the third step, planting seeds and transplants.
    This class will be led by 3 UC Master Gardeners: Niki Volrath, Kobi Bardugo, Jay Davis.

  • Have you looked at a seed catalog and wished you could grow the plants on those beautiful pages? Have you wondered why your seeds didn’t germinate? Once your seeds sprout, what do you need to do to turn them into strong healthy plants?
    This class will provide knowledge to help you become successful at all stages from seeds to plants. In this hands-on workshop you will practice caring for a set of seedlings in various stages. You will go home with seedlings to begin your spring/summer garden.
    This class will be led by a UC Master Gardener My Thanh Kim.

  • This class will cover everything you need to know to brew kombucha at home, including secondary flavoring and carbonation. We will demonstrate the techniques for brewing kombucha and send you home with a complete ½ gallon starter kit and instructions for getting your first batch started at home.
    This class will be led by UC Master Food Preservers Carol Morgan and Liz Woodward.

  • This class will cover hands-on fruit tree care with John Clements. His talk will focus on selecting, pruning, fertilizing and care. You will learn to assess and diagnose - should a tree be saved or replaced? Irrigation instructions and how to trap those pesky gophers will also be covered.

  • Take your kid on a fun adventure learning to jam! Join us for this hands-on class and learn the basics for preparing a low sugar strawberry jam that you will take home to enjoy on your next peanut butter and jelly sandwich. We will also make a Strawberry Lemonade simmer packet to make your home smell like spring. Class fee includes one adult and one child, as well as one workshop takeaway.
    This class will be led by UC Master Food Preservers.
